Editorial

The USAF Sikorsky is – obviously – an aircraft that I’ve never had the joy of actually stepping foot in. Most readers of this likely won’t have had the pleasure, but now you can get the closest thing in the form of a well-made FSX mod that should really help you see why the HH-60 is such a beloved aircraft for military types.

This model is well made, with it taking many of the parts of the old Virtavia model. This carries all of the same hallmarks, then, with many lovely additions being included such as a high level of realism in the design and a great level of performance in general.

It flies well and presents the reality of what it must be like to fly the HH-60 yourself, but it’s obviously a model that looks great as well. The developer behind this particular repaint, Zsolt Beleznay, has done an excellent job on making a smart island texture design for the HH-60 and making it look the part.

It might not add much more over the old Virtavia model (which is excellent by the way) but it certainly adds to the overall charm of this model in particular.

One thing I would stress, though, is that is just the skin for the Virtavia mod. No flight dynamics changes or new features have been added, so don’t add this to your collection if you just want something that has a whole new set of featured added in for effect.

This is just the skin so you will have nothing new waiting for you if you have used the old Virtavia mod in the past. That being said, you shouldn’t discount this mod because of it – the work that has been done is excellent and makes the original look that little bit better.
