This freeware repaint package highlights a custom Kenn Borek Air livery designed for the Basler BT-67 in Microsoft Flight Simulator X. It requires the original Basler BT-67 base pack created by developers Daniel Fuernkaess, Manfred Jahn, Alexander M. Metzger, and Hansjoerg Naegele. The included textures represent the distinctive registration C-GVKB, reflecting the real Canadian operator known for rugged polar and remote area flights. These files do not cover the entire aircraft model; you must first obtain and install the freeware base pack available in the Fly Away Simulation library.

Technical Repaint Background

Basler BT-67 refers to a turboprop conversion of the classic DC-3, featuring upgraded powerplants, modern avionics, and enhanced aerodynamic components. This specific repaint showcases Kenn Borek Air’s unique color scheme, which is known for supporting science expeditions and remote community transport across challenging terrain. Painter Daniel Fuernkaess (Cheese-Strike Repaints) painstakingly captured this airline's authentic markings to deliver a realistic texture set.

Distinctive Features

  • Reflective finishing to emulate the aircraft’s rugged exterior.
  • Authentic registration markings (C-GVKB) based on Kenn Borek Air’s fleet.
  • Two variants included: a ski-equipped model and a non-ski model for different simulation scenarios.
  • Accurate portrayal of fuselage logos, tail design, and engine nacelle details.

Implementation Steps

  1. Verify you have an operational installation of the Basler BT-67 base pack from the same creators. If you have not yet installed it, download and install that essential add-on first.
  2. Extract or open the downloaded .zip file containing this Kenn Borek Air repaint.
  3. Locate the “texture.C-GVKB” folder and move it into your “Flight Simulator X\SimObjects\Airplanes\Basler_BT67” directory.
  4. Open “aircraft.cfg” with a text editor (for instance, Notepad). Append the following entries below your existing [fltsim] configurations, ensuring the numerical order is correct for each subsequent section.
