Whangarei Regional Airport (NZWR) scenery sharpens Northland flying with custom terminal, tower, signage, and accurate object placement tuned to a photoreal base. Built for FSX SP2, it requires the VLC North Island Airfields Pack v1.2 and integrates cleanly with VECTOR LANDCLASS for a cohesive regional look.

Flight Simulator X Prepar3D

(NZWR), located in the Northland region of New Zealand's North Island. This custom scenery is specifically built to fit onto the photoreal base for Whangarei that is included with the free VLC North Islands Airfield pack v1.2, available from the VectorLandClass website. The scenery requires this pack to be installed first. See install instructions for details. By Lawrie Roache.

This scenery was made for FSX SP2, without Acceleration, and with VECTOR LANDCLASS (VLC) (Payware) installed.

Flight1 Software, INSTANT SCENERY Object Placer, and AIRPORT FACILITATOR X (AFX), were used in the making of this scenery.

CREDITS:

GODFREY TIER for the custom signs and custom Terminal and Tower buildings.

LAWRIE ROACHE for the Afcad, Flattens, Excludes, and placement of objects in the scenery.

ROBIN CORN for the free VLC Object Libraries.

TIM BARNES for the free VLC North Island Airfields Pack, and the original NZWR_Objects_VLC.bgl file that is replaced by a modified version in this scenery. (The modified version removes some default FSX objects, and a few VLC objects, but adds nothing).

How to install this mod

FSX / P3D scenery

  1. Extract the downloaded archive

    Use 7-Zip (free) or WinRAR to extract the ZIP to a temporary folder. Don't install while still zipped — the simulator can't read inside ZIP files.

  2. Place scenery in Addon Scenery

    Create a folder under FSX\Addon Scenery\ containing scenery and texture sub-folders.

  3. Activate in Scenery Library

    In FSX, go to Settings → Scenery Library → Add Area. Higher priority means it overrides lower entries for the same location.

  4. Always read the included readme

    Every mod ships with a readme.txt or README file. It tells you exactly where files go, what dependencies are needed, and any quirks specific to this add-on.
