A repaint of the default DC3 in early Lambair livery.
Screenshot of Lambair Douglas DC-3 on runway.
This is my version of the DC-3 livery that Lambair (a private Canadian Airline) flew once. Enclosed in the file are the two pictures I had for reference. I had to leave the big "L" from the rudder as it isn't possible with the default DC-3 to achieve a non-mirrored picture. I had to make one more compromise with the nose area, I did my best, though.
To add the "skin" to your DC-3 just add this to your DC-3's aircraft.cfg-file:
[fltsim.XX]
title=Douglas DC-3 lamb
sim=Douglas_DC3
model=
panel=
sound=
texture=lamb
kb_checklists=Douglas_DC3_check
kb_reference=Douglas_DC3_ref
atc_id=C-FBFV
ui_manufacturer=Douglas
ui_type="DC-3"
ui_variation="Lambair"
description="The Douglas DC-3 revolutionized air transportation and airline service during the 1930s and 1940s. It was a luxury airliner that boasted cabin heat and running water in its on-board lavatory. With the right balance of efficiency, range, speed, and payload, the DC-3 was the first aircraft to earn a profit for its owners just by carrying passengers. The hero of early airlines, a handful of DC-3s are still at work today."
Replace the XX in the [fltsim.XX] with the number that follows the last of your fltsim entries. If you haven't installed any additional skins yet, the number would be 4.
Then copy the texture.lamb-folder into your DC-3 folder.
That's it! Start FS2004 and enjoy your new aircraft-skin.
