This repaint package represents a North Korean Air Force livery for the Antonov An-2T, bringing another distinctive scheme to Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004 enthusiasts. Crafted by Steve Baldwin, these textures overlay the freeware model originally created by Tim Conrad. The base model (AN2TPPP.ZIP) is required but not included in this archive.
Specialized Livery for the Enduring Biplane
The Antonov An-2T is a classic single-radial-engine biplane, first developed in the late 1940s. Despite its initial appearance as an outdated design, it has remained indispensable around the globe for short-field operations and rugged cargo or passenger transport. In North Korean Air Force service, this configuration has been known for its ability to operate from remote airstrips, often with minimal support structures. The large flaps, robust undercarriage, and slow-speed handling allow safe landings on unprepared surfaces.

description=First appearing in 1947, the AN-2's was first dismissed as obsolete, due to its biplane layout and homely looks. But the "Annushka" would prove the naysayers wrong... and how! The biplane layout proved itself, and there wasn't much the AN-2 couldn't do, whether as a passenger, cargo, parachuting, crop spraying, or spec ops plane. Over 20,000 were produced, mostly in Poland. Not bad for an "obsolete" design.
Notable Elements of This Repaint
- Authentic Color Palette
- The marking style reflects a livery believed to be used by the North Korean Air Force, emphasizing regional camouflage and military insignia.
- Utility Focus
- Designed to align with the rugged philosophy behind the An-2 platform, which can tackle rough landing zones in challenging operational conditions.
- Compatibility
- Fully compatible with Tim Conrad’s freeware An-2T model (AN2TPPP.ZIP), available in the Fly Away Simulation library.
No additional files are included beyond the North Korean Air Force textures, so remember that the base model by Tim Conrad must be installed first. Steve Baldwin’s repaint offers a detailed option for anyone looking to explore the functional and historical aspects of this enduring Soviet-era transport aircraft within Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004.
