Circa 1960, registration PH-DAI. This file contains alternative textures for the freeware Douglas C47 by Manfred Jahn and team. The textures depict the C-47A 42-92871 how it looked around 1960 when it was owned by the Royal Dutch Airlines (KLM).
This C-47A which was built for the USAAF in 1944 and purchased by KLM in April 1946. It remained in service with the KLM until January 1963, after which it was registered in France. The C-47 soon moved to West Africa as it was almost immediately sold to the Mauritanian Air Force. As is changed registration somewhere, it might have been sold to a private operator in Mauritania. In 1980 it went to the French airline operator Stellair, which had several C-47/DC-3s in use, mainly on destinations in France and Africa. On 11 November 1984 it was written off after it crash landed close to Tan Tan airfield in Morroco. Due to a sandstorm it had been unable to land and ran out of fuel.
C-47 Skytrain Exterior Base Pack 1.0 by Manfred Jahn required (C47BASEPACK.ZIP), optionally also the interior model tweak C47_INTERIOR.ZIP. This repaint was created by using the original paint kit released with the aircraft. By Huub Vink.
