FS2004 R4D Skytrain VXE6

VXE6 livery textures bring the US Navy’s Antarctic R4D Skytrain look to the default Douglas DC-3 in FS2004, highlighting a rare historic airframe with markings placed on the fuselage for a cleaner fit. Requires the default DC-3 and delivers an authentic, museum-inspired finish for classic transport flights.

VXE6 textures for the default Douglas DC-3. Out of all the DC-3's sent to Antarctica for the USN, two are intact, one at Pensacola Naval Aviation Museum, and one at Ferrymead Historical Park NZ. Due to the poor nature of the default design, the designations couldn't be placed on the tail so are therefore on the fuselage. Textures by Luke Friese. (See also R4DFIX.ZIP).

description="The Douglas DC-3 revolutionized air transportation and airline service during the 1930s and 1940s. It was a luxury airliner that boasted cabin heat and running water in its on-board lavatory. With the right balance of efficiency, range, speed, and payload, the DC-3 was the first aircraft to earn a profit for its owners just by carrying passengers. The hero of early airlines, a handful of DC-3s are still at work today."
