Editorial

This lovely remake of the old SAA Airbus A380-800 was something that I was deeply impressed by. I downloaded it looking to extend the level of liveries that I had for the A380 and quickly found that the model introduced here, created by Peter Tredre, done a wonderful job of capturing the reality and the depth of the model in all of its glory.

Preview screenshot

One thing that really caught my attention, though, was the introduction of the new texture. It made a big difference to the old model, especially given it was based on a livery for this aircraft that I had never used before. This really helps to create an interesting look for the aircraft, giving you something fresh and unique that most virtual pilots won’t have had the pleasure of using in the past.

Installation is really simple, too. You just need to drop it into your Airplanes folder and voila! This means that you can get going more or less as and when you need it, ensuring that you can have a whole lot more fun with this mod instead of having to mess around trying to get it to install.

That said, it does not introduce a huge amount else to the table. It uses basic VC and cockpit controls and also is based on the Robert Versluys model, made from GMAX. Whilst it might not have the intricate and clear detail of some modern equivalents of this, it does an excellent job of capturing the realism of the aircraft, making it lots of fun to fly around in.

If you have been looking for a new mod to capture your attention when you take off with the Airbus A380 the next time, this might be worth having at least for the unique, interesting livery.

Nice I'm downloading, will see later details, panel, sound.

Hope is more or less like the real thing. Also, you are the best page for downloading airplanes. Pity you have no more FS 2004. Thank you, Albert Aldana /Argentina Buenos Aires.

I agree with Adam. Beautiful skin, easy download, fairly easy to fly. The only thing that I didn't like was the 747 instrument panel. Overall, though, good job! Thanks!
