Expert Overview

This high-resolution Southwest Airlines A320neo repaint brings a vibrant new look to the default Airbus model in Microsoft Flight Simulator. While Southwest does not operate Airbus jets in reality, the mod faithfully recreates the airline’s distinctive brand identity and integrates correct ICAO and callsign details for an immersive experience. The included AI traffic version allows you to spot this colorful livery in other areas of the virtual airport environment, boosting your overall sense of realism.

As someone who has personally tested this livery, I can confirm that the texturing and color work are both sharply detailed, delivering an authentic feel in every corner of the aircraft. It’s an excellent option for flight sim enthusiasts craving a complete airline ecosystem, especially if you enjoy seeing Southwest flights operate in true-to-life formations. In my experience, this mod is a seamless, polished addition for anyone looking to expand their virtual commercial fleet in MSFS.

A high-definition Southwest Airlines livery/repaint for the default Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020) A320neo aircraft model.

The Southwest Airlines A320neo livery applied in MSFS 2020.The repaint features the Southwest Airlines "normal" livery in HD resolution with correct ICAO and callsign information along with an AI traffic version to show inside the simulator. There is no need to adjust anything such as ATC files when using the repaint.

This is a fictional livery as Southwest Airlines do not currently employ any Airbus A20neo or even standard A320's in their real-world fleet.

How to install this mod

MSFS livery / repaint
  1. Extract the downloaded archive

Use 7-Zip (free) or WinRAR to extract the ZIP to a temporary folder. Don't install while still zipped — the simulator can't read inside ZIP files.
  2. Locate your MSFS Community folder

All MSFS add-ons live in the Community folder. Microsoft Store / Game Pass version: %LOCALAPPDATA%\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\Packages\Community\. Steam version: %APPDATA%\Microsoft Flight Simulator\Packages\Community\. Tip: enable Developer Mode in MSFS to see your exact Community folder path.
  3. Copy the livery folder into Community

Drag the extracted livery folder into your Community folder. The base aircraft must be installed for the livery to appear.
  4. Restart MSFS

Close MSFS completely and relaunch. The new content appears in the Content Manager, on the World Map, or in the aircraft/livery selector.
  5. Always read the included readme
