FSX Default CRJ-700 Engine Smoke Effect

Default Bombardier CRJ-700 flights gain a convincing engine smoke trail effect that adds atmosphere to takeoffs, climbs, and cruise in Microsoft Flight Simulator X. The package supplies an updated smoke system entry and a matching effect file, letting the aircraft trigger smoke on command while keeping the original model and virtual cockpit intact.

Installation:

Copy and paste the enclosed "fx_smoke_f6.fx" file into your FSX "Effects" folder. (It's probably there already, so look first).
Copy and paste all of the [SMOKESYSTEM] info. below into your FSX default CRJ-700 "aircraft.cfg" file. I pasted mine between the [brakes] and the [electrical] sections with good results.
Press your "I" key while flying your CRJ-700 and enjoy your smoke!

FSX / P3D add-on

Extract the downloaded archive

Use 7-Zip (free) or WinRAR to extract the ZIP to a temporary folder. Don't install while still zipped — the simulator can't read inside ZIP files.
