FSX Airbus Smoke Effects

Airbus A340 engine smoke effects bring convincing four-trail exhaust visuals to Thomas Ruth’s A340-200, -300, -500, and -600 fleet in FSX, adding extra presence during taxi, takeoff, and climb. Requires the Thomas Ruth Airbus A340 models and uses an easy [SMOKESYSTEM] configuration with the included fx_smoke_f6 effect.

Installation:

Copy and paste the enclosed "fx_smoke_f6" file into your FSX "Effects" folder. (It is probably there already, so look first).
Copy and paste all of the [SMOKESYSTEM] info. below into the "aircraft.cfg" file for each one of your Thomas Ruth Airbus A340 models. I pasted mine between the [radios] section and the [keyboard_response] section with good results. This smoke was perfected for the A340-200 and 300, but works just fine with the 500 and 600 as well.
Press your "I" key while flying your A340's and enjoy the engine smoke effect!

How to install this mod

FSX / P3D aircraft

Extract the downloaded archive

Use 7-Zip (free) or WinRAR to extract the ZIP to a temporary folder. Don't install while still zipped — the simulator can't read inside ZIP files.
Copy aircraft files into SimObjects

Place the aircraft folder inside FSX\SimObjects\Airplanes\. The folder must contain an aircraft.cfg file. Effects go into FSX\Effects\; gauges go into FSX\Gauges\.
Verify in FSX

Launch FSX, go to Free Flight → Select Aircraft and find your new aircraft under its manufacturer.
