FSX Default Airbus A321 Engine Smoke Effect

Engine smoke effects for the default Airbus A321 add convincing exhaust trails that enhance realism in exterior views and replay moments. Designed for FSX, it uses the Smoke System with a custom effect file and correctly placed emitters on both engines, giving the jet a more dynamic look during flight.

Installation:

  • Copy and paste the enclosed "fx_smoke_f6.fx" file into your FSX "Effects" folder. (It's probably there already, so look first).
  • Copy and paste all of the [SMOKESYSTEM] info. below into your FSX default Airbus A321 "aircraft.cfg" file. I pasted mine between the [brakes] section and the [hydraulic_system] section with good results.
  • Press your "I" key while trying to fly your A321 and enjoy the smoke while you are crashing.

How to install this mod

FSX / P3D aircraft

  1. Extract the downloaded archive

    Use 7-Zip (free) or WinRAR to extract the ZIP to a temporary folder. Don't install while still zipped — the simulator can't read inside ZIP files.

  2. Copy aircraft files into SimObjects

    Place the aircraft folder inside FSX\SimObjects\Airplanes\. The folder must contain an aircraft.cfg file. Effects go into FSX\Effects\; gauges go into FSX\Gauges\.

  3. Verify in FSX

    Launch FSX, go to Free Flight → Select Aircraft and find your new aircraft under its manufacturer.

  4. Always read the included readme

    Every mod ships with a readme.txt or README file. It tells you exactly where files go, what dependencies are needed, and any quirks specific to this add-on.
