This repaint package features a fictional rendition of a Cessna 185F Skywagon, registration N185CA. It has been developed by Kevin Michael to work with the payware Carenado model, which you will need in order to fully utilize this add-on in Microsoft Flight Simulator X. This texture set applies detailed markings to replicate the distinct appearance of an adventurous backcountry aircraft.
Unique Exterior Details
This custom livery offers a stylized scheme that emphasizes the Cessna 185F’s rugged character. The fuselage and wings incorporate unique coloration patterns that enhance visibility and provide a precise sense of realism. Cessna’s signature high-wing configuration is carefully represented through clearly defined lines, making the aircraft stand out on the ramp and in the sky.
Insights on the C185F Skywagon
The real-world Cessna 185, also known under the Skywagon name, is a high-wing, single-engine design renowned for its robust taildragger landing gear. As a six-seat general aviation airplane, it handles a wide range of operating environments, from paved runways to bush strips. Production originally began in the early 1960s, and over 4,400 examples were manufactured before production ceased in 1985. It remains popular among bush pilots for its short-field performance and versatility.
Installation Process
- Extract the downloaded texture.N185CA folder to a temporary location on your computer.
- Copy the texture.N185CA folder into your main installation directory for the payware Carenado 185F. For many setups, the path is: C:/Program Files/Microsoft Games/Microsoft Flight Simulator X/Simobjects/Airplanes/Carenado 185F.
Aircraft Configuration File Adjustment
Once you have placed the new folder in the correct directory, you must update your aircraft.cfg to reference this livery. Open that file in the Carenado 185F folder and replace X in the following snippet with the next sequential number in your list of repaints:
