Moscow Sheremetyevo (UUEE) in Russia is a major international hub serving the greater Moscow region, and this freeware AFCAD2 configuration refines its stand assignments and taxi procedures for a more authentic ground experience. Created for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004, these updated layouts align closely with real-world positions and streamline traffic flow when used alongside payware scenery from Simulation Software Workshop. By reflecting the structure of Sheremetyevo’s terminals and parking systems, this add-on ensures an immersive takeoff, taxi, and parking environment. Developed by Carlos Lorenz Benlloch, it offers enthusiasts a detailed approach to one of Russia’s busiest airports.

Detailed Gate And Taxiway Adjustments

To capture Sheremetyevo’s bustling operations, this AFCAD2 mod incorporates custom ramp spaces modeled on actual airline distribution patterns. The developer leveraged the AFCAD 2 tool (originally crafted by Lee Swordy) to adjust parking spot codes and optimize queue times for arrivals and departures. Furthermore, the revised taxiways highlight realistic centerline paths, while runway access points match the latest field charts, enabling a smoother approach to and from gates.

Alignment With Payware Scenery

This layout was designed to function within the Moscow Global Scenery environment offered by Simulation Software Workshop. Therefore, the precise gate placements and apron markings align perfectly with that payware package. Users employing the default Sheremetyevo terrain in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004 may encounter discrepancies in surface textures, building placements, or ramp accuracy. Consequently, pairing it with the recommended scenery ensures the best match between real-life terminal areas and the sim environment.

Technical Installation Guidelines

  • Locate your fs9\addon Scenery\scenery folder within the Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004 directory.
  • Copy the included .bgl file into that folder.
  • Allow the simulator to refresh its database upon launch to adopt the updated stands, taxiways, and gate assignments.

These modifications draw on expert knowledge of Sheremetyevo’s layout, including Terminal B’s domestic connections and Terminal D’s frequent international routes. They are intended to enhance realism for all virtual pilots operating out of Moscow’s northern aviation gateway. Developed freeware by Carlos Lorenz Benlloch, this AFCAD2 configuration contributes to a more accurate representation of commercial and cargo activities for the sim community.
