A high quality AFCAD2 file for the UK2000 Heathrow Airport, UK. Built from scratch, using the latest CAA charts, this AFCAD2 compliments the addon scenery perfectly. This file gives you the current real life taxiway names and gate numbers at this airport. Aircraft will take-off from and land directly onto the runway centerlines. Runways 9L, 9R, 27L and 27R are all open for traffic. Runway 05/23 is utilised as 'Taxiway Alpha' as per real life. Airlines are allocated to the correct terminals and all gates are used. This file gives you 200 usable parking positions at this airport, including those in the maintenance, hangar and Cargo areas. This file has been fully tested with no problems found. Requires the payware 'UK2000 Part 4' or 'UK2000 Heathrow' package by G. Summons. By Lee Brompton.
Overview of Heathrow Airport.
I have spent many hours building this AFCAD2 (completely from scratch) in order to provide as many parking positions at Heathrow as possible (within scenery limits). After installation you should immediately see the difference I have made to this airport.
All runways (09L/R & 27L/R) at this airport are open for traffic (rwy 05/23 is now Taxiway 'Alpha' as per real life).
Yes this means you will have parallel arrivals and departures (unlike in real life). Feel free to change this if you wish.
Usually FS traffic arrivals from the 'North' will use 09L/27R while those from the 'South' will use 09R/27L.
With this setup, departing aircraft will use the nearest runway. Technically most flights from T1 and T3 will use the North runways while departures from T2 and T4 will usually use the South runways for departure.
