FSX Delta Airlines Boeing 747-400

Delta Air Lines livery for the default Boeing 747-400 brings classic fleet markings and authentic registration N662US to the jumbo in Microsoft Flight Simulator X. The repaint includes matching airline and parking codes for more believable gate assignments and ATC calls, and requires the stock FSX 747-400 model.

Installation:

  • Copy and paste the text above the line in the b747_400 aircraft.cfg in its appropriate location. You're able to do this in Notepad.
  • Replace the x in [fltsim.x] with the next number in order.
  • Save File. If Windows is not allowing you to save, try "Save as" in desktop (with ANIS encoding) and try moving the aircraft.cfg file from desktop to ...Microsoft Flight Simulator X / SimObjects / Airplanes / b747_400. Windows will prompt you if you want to "Move and Replace" or "Don't Move", choose "Move and Replace".
  • Move or copy Texter.DAL into b747_400 file
  • In the main Microsoft Flight Simulator X file there's an airline.cfg file, open and enter "Delta" in its own line without quotes. If not allowed to save directly, try using the same method explained in above.

How to install this mod

FSX / P3D aircraft
  1. Extract the downloaded archive

Use 7-Zip (free) or WinRAR to extract the ZIP to a temporary folder. Don't install while still zipped — the simulator can't read inside ZIP files.
  2. Copy aircraft files into SimObjects

Place the aircraft folder inside FSX\SimObjects\Airplanes\. The folder must contain an aircraft.cfg file. Effects go into FSX\Effects\; gauges go into FSX\Gauges\.
  3. Verify in FSX

Launch FSX, go to Free Flight → Select Aircraft and find your new aircraft under its manufacturer.
  4. Always read the included readme

Every mod ships with a readme.txt or README file. It tells you exactly where files go, what dependencies are needed, and any quirks specific to this add-on.

Do you think you can make a 3D model of N661US? I want to try making a papercraft version. Do you think you could make the textures too? What fonts do they use for the nose registration on the front landing gear doors and on the tail registration?
