This repaint brings a faithful rendition of the Air Onix Boeing 737-500 to your virtual skies. It is designed for use in FSX, highlighting essential details of both the original FAIB model and the distinctive Air Onix livery. This add-on is freeware and requires the base package, which is available in the Fly Away Simulation library. Model by Erez Werber (FAIB_B7373.ZIP) and repaint by Philippe Tabatchnik.

Overview of the Aircraft

The Boeing 737-500, known for its short-fuselage design, offers reliable performance for short-to-medium-haul routes. Many carriers worldwide once relied on it for its balanced capacity and efficient operation. Air Onix, a Ukraine-based airline, operated this type as part of its fleet during its brief tenure, serving selected destinations across the region.

Key Features

  • Accurate color scheme reflecting the Air Onix branding.
  • Diverse external markings to capture the airline’s authentic appearance.
  • Optimized textures designed to integrate smoothly within FSX.
  • Compatible with flight planning utilities for adding custom schedules.

Installation Instructions

  1. Place the “texture.air onix” folder into the correct FAIB Boeing 737-500 base model directory. (Note that you must first acquire the freeware FAIB base model to utilize this repaint, available in the Fly Away Simulation library.)
  2. Open the aircraft.cfg file (found in the main FAIB base folder). Insert the [fltsim.x] data from this repaint’s package and replace “x” with the next available sequence number ([fltsim.0], [fltsim.1], and so on). Do not include duplicates or skip any increment.
  3. Assign your newly painted aircraft to flight plans as desired, then load FSX to experience the Air Onix 737-500 in action.

Once installed, this repaint allows you to replicate the look of Air Onix’s Boeing 737-500. By integrating it into your flight simulator environment, you can immerse yourself in realistic flight plans and airport operations that reflect the airline’s unique presence.
