CAE5 Whistler Green Lake Water Aerodrome for X-Plane 10 and 11 authentically recreates the remote seaplane experience five kilometers north of Whistler in British Columbia, Canada. This mod features crisp ZL18 ground textures that accurately represent the surrounding alpine terrain, providing lifelike scenery as you touch down on the shimmering waters of Green Lake or transition to the nearby land aerodrome for a change of pace.

By incorporating popular libraries such as CDB, JB, The Handy Objects, MisterX, and OpenSceneryX, the scenery seamlessly brings in rich 3D models and eye-catching static aircraft. Developed by Canada4XPlane, it also includes precise orthophotos, thanks to contributions from Nonimap, and carefully placed static aircraft courtesy of AeroPedro. Overall, this mod adds a refreshing layer of realism to the X-Plane experience, offering stunning vistas and a unique water-based take on Canadian bush flying.

How to install this mod

X-Plane scenery

  1. Extract the downloaded archive

    Use 7-Zip (free) or WinRAR to extract the ZIP to a temporary folder. Don't install while still zipped — the simulator can't read inside ZIP files.

  2. Copy into Custom Scenery

    Place the scenery folder into X-Plane 12/Custom Scenery/.

  3. Set scenery load order

    X-Plane loads sceneries top-to-bottom from Custom Scenery/scenery_packs.ini. Custom airports should be ABOVE mesh and ortho-imagery.

  4. Restart X-Plane

    Close X-Plane completely and relaunch. The new content loads automatically.

  5. Always read the included readme

    Every mod ships with a readme.txt or README file. It tells you exactly where files go, what dependencies are needed, and any quirks specific to this add-on.
