FSX Macchi 416

The Aermacchi Macchi 416 trainer comes to life in FSX with a reflective metallic finish, fully animated exterior details, and a museum-inspired rendition based on the Vigna di Valle aircraft near Rome. A scratch-built panel from photographic references pairs with mostly default and custom gauges, plus a simple virtual cockpit with essential instruments and animated controls.

A vintage aircraft cockpit panel displays analog gauges and switches with a clear blue sky and scattered clouds visible through the windshield.

A white, single-engine military trainer aircraft with Italian roundels and two pilots is parked on a marked concrete runway.

FSX Macchi 416. The Aermacchi started the production of this trainer in summer 1951 under license from Fokker, while a second production line was established at Aerfer (Naples). This model reproduces the aircraft on display in Vigna di Valle Aeronautical Museum (near Rome) and features reflective metallic skin plus full animations. The panel background has been created entirely from scratch, based on photographic material found on the net and some photos from official documents. Most of the gauges are default gauges and some have been created by the authors. Included in this model there is also a simple virtual cockpit, with working essential flight instruments and animated flight controls. By Italo D'Attomo and Giovanni Quai.
