Editorial
Whilst many of us will never get the chance to even step foot in a weapons fighter school, this simulated equivalent can be all that you need to make flying around properly far more interesting and engaging. When taking on military grade hardware the goalposts will move slightly in terms of the things that you need to do; it’s not the same as flying any other kind of aircraft. I decided to download this package to see what it could offer in terms of helping me find my game in FS2004 when flying more ambitious military scale models.
The F-15 models included in here – 3 in total – all work perfectly well and provide the services that you need to really enjoy yourself when you first start getting into this. With so many additional little features added into the weapons fighter that you get access to with things like retracting landing gears, opening canopies and moving flaps you can quickly get to grips with this range of models. They look great and represent the real thing as well as it probably can.
Additionally, the interior has been carefully designed to do much the same. When you are flying around with an F-15 aircraft you’ll want to have the real stuff to pick from and this realistic panel is just what you need. Naturally, this makes flying the thing much easier as you have far less challenges waiting for you as you try and pick up speed. However, the real “power” of this thing is locked away – and you need to hit the right process to get the true power coming from this.
The authentic options are included in here for the power, as well. If you hit the afterburner power on the throttle, you’ll see the aircraft lift off and fire away like never above. As far as training you will go in terms of getting you used to how this aircraft flies, you’ll need to get used to this feature as it’s a key component in hitting the kind of speeds that you would have wanted to.
Add all of this together and you’ve got a truly enjoyable flight style that makes it nice and easy for you to take off at rapid pace. The representation in here is very impressive and will give you a real insight into how this should feel – and as a training course, few can come close!
The entire package that it provides is really impressive as it manages to closely represent the real thing, or as much as it possibly can, given the limitations of FS2004. If you ever wanted to get the training done for a military aircraft, though, this is as good a package as you will find for a more retro simulator. It carries the real thing very well and makes a great attempt at making it look as effective and as realistic as it possibly can.
I’d happily recommend this a go-to training school for anyone who wants to take it easy whilst using a very effective, attractive aircraft to learn.
