FSX Air Service CRJ200

This repaint package provides a detailed Air Service Gabon livery for the freeware Project Open Sky CRJ-200. It showcases the distinct color scheme of this operator from Central Africa and delivers an immersive regional jet experience. By integrating these enhanced textures into your simulator, you can add an authentic flair to short-haul and medium-range flights. The repaint was created entirely by Sebastian Szucs.

Overview of the CRJ-200 and Airline Background

The CRJ-200 (Canadair Regional Jet) is a twin-engined aircraft designed primarily for shorter routes. It features impressive aerodynamics and efficient performance capacity. Air Service Gabon, which once operated in Gabon, flew various regional routes and employed versatile jets capably suited for local and neighboring connections. This reproduction aims to preserve that unique appearance, while still maintaining optimized compatibility with the Project Open Sky freeware model.

Key Technical Features

• Accurate fuselage, tail, and wing texture alignment for a realistic exterior finish.
• 32-bit texture format without Mip-Maps for enhanced clarity in various lighting conditions.
• Adapted from the Project Open Sky paint kit (originally created for older platforms).

Even though the original paint kit was designed for earlier simulators, the repainter worked to optimize these textures and refine the color scheme as much as possible within the kit's limitations.

Installation Procedure

1. Unzip the enclosed texture.XXX folder to your existing Project Open Sky CRJ-200 directory.
2. Open the Aircraft.cfg included with this repaint. Copy the provided configuration text and paste it into your CRJ-200’s main aircraft configuration.
3. Under the new [fltsim.X] entry, replace “X” with the next sequential number in your setup.
4. Verify that the model= and sim= lines in the newly added section match the corresponding references for the CRJ-200 model and .air file.
5. Start up your simulator and load the aircraft to confirm that the livery displays properly.

This package only includes the repaint. The underlying CRJ-200 freeware model by Project Open Sky is required and can be obtained from the Fly Away Simulation library. After installation, you can enjoy many short-hop or domestic routes with this distinctive Air Service Gabon color scheme.
