FSX Sapsan CRJ200

Sapsan livery textures for the Project Open Sky Bombardier CRJ-200 bring crisp, uncompressed 32-bit visuals and clean fuselage and tail markings to regional jet flying in FSX. The repaint installs as a dedicated texture set and requires the Project Open Sky CRJ-200 base model for proper aircraft selection and display.

This repaint package brings a distinctive Sapsan livery to the popular Bombardier CRJ-200 model by Project Open Sky. It has been carefully crafted by creator Sebastian Szucs and is furnished in high-quality 32-bit textures without MIP-maps. Although the original paint kit dates back to an earlier era of flight simulation, this release has been refined to deliver a reliable visual experience during your regional jet operations.

Overview of the CRJ-200 and Sapsan Repaint

The CRJ-200 (sometimes referred to as a Bombardier Regional Jet 200) is a twin-engined regional aircraft that is often used on short to medium routes, boasting an efficient airframe and comfortable cabin layout. This freeware repaint incorporates the Sapsan color scheme, featuring recognizable markings across the fuselage and tail, which provide a polished aesthetic in the simulator environment. This modification does not include the base model—it only includes textures for use with the Project Open Sky CRJ-200, found in the Fly Away Simulation library.

Installation Steps

  1. Extract the texture.XXX directory into your Project Open Sky CRJ-200 folder.
  2. Append the included aircraft.cfg entry to the existing configuration file in the CRJ-200 folder.
  3. Replace “X” in “[fltsim.X]” with the next consecutive number in your aircraft.cfg sequence.
  4. Confirm the “model=” and “sim=” lines match the files found in your CRJ-200 directory.
  5. Start up the simulator and select the newly added livery from your aircraft selection menu.

Texture Details

The repaint textures are packaged in uncompressed 32-bit format. This choice ensures clarity in the visual details. Nevertheless, it is worth noting that the original source paint kit, provided by Project Open Sky for the CRJ series, was primarily developed for an older simulator platform. Consequently, there may be minor limitations in the overall texture sharpness, yet the result remains faithful to the real-life paint scheme.

Whenever you are ready to explore shorter routes in your virtual portfolio, this livery adds visual variety to regional operations. Remember to obtain the Project Open Sky CRJ-200 base model from the Fly Away Simulation files, then merge these textures to complete the aircraft. All rights for the repaint belong to Sebastian Szucs, and the original CRJ-200 model is by Project Open Sky. Fly safely and enjoy the updated livery in your simulator!

How to install this mod

FSX / P3D add-on
  1. Extract the downloaded archive

Use 7-Zip (free) or WinRAR to extract the ZIP to a temporary folder. Don't install while still zipped — the simulator can't read inside ZIP files.
  2. Place files per the readme

Most FSX add-ons go into one of: SimObjects\Airplanes\, Addon Scenery\, Effects\, or Gauges\.
  3. Always read the included readme

Every mod ships with a readme.txt or README file. It tells you exactly where files go, what dependencies are needed, and any quirks specific to this add-on.
