Created by Andrew McGowin, this update ensures sharper visuals and improved immersion while maintaining the original feel of Microsoft’s built-in model.

Refined External Appearance

The DeHavilland Beaver is widely regarded for its short takeoff and landing (STOL) performance, often operating in rugged environments such as remote lakes and mountain strips. In this fix, the external fuselage and wing details have been carefully enhanced. By replacing the original texture mapping, the aircraft’s rivets, panel lines, and subtle markings now appear more defined, making every flight feel far more authentic whether you are bush hopping or touring scenic backcountry.

Enhanced Cockpit Textures

Inside the cockpit, the fix addresses blurred instrument panels and other panel details. This results in crisper gauges, sharper control surfaces, and improved readability of essential labels. Installation Procedure

1. Extract all included texture files into a temporary directory.
2. Back up the existing “textures.” folders found in the aircraft\DeHavilland_Beaver_DHC2\ directory.
3. Copy all “texture.” files from the newly downloaded fix into the same aircraft folder, allowing them to overwrite any older variants.
4. Load Microsoft Flight Simulator X and experience the improved clarity.
