The Embraer 190 is a versatile twin-engine regional jet often favored for short- to medium-range routes worldwide. This freeware add-on introduces finely adjusted vantage points designed to optimize immersion when flying the Premier Aircraft Design rendition within Microsoft Flight Simulator X. Developed by Marc Renaud, these boosted internal and external camera positions enable comprehensive cockpit surveying and detailed exterior inspection, heightening situational awareness.

Refined Camera Perspectives and Key Improvements

By leveraging multiple camera definitions, this package offers ten new angles of the aircraft’s fuselage and four optimized viewpoints in the virtual cockpit. These configurations enhance immersion, allowing a broader look at the Embraer 190’s distinctive body contours and avionics layout. Pilots who frequently operate the Embraer 190 for commuter routes will appreciate the augmented field of view, which improves corridor checks and overall visual scanning.

Integrating the Custom Definitions

  1. Make sure the currently active aircraft in Microsoft Flight Simulator X is not the Premier Aircraft Design Embraer 190 before installation.
  2. Create a backup of the aircraft.cfg file.
  3. Open the aircraft.cfg file and also open the provided camera definitions.txt document that comes with this package.
  4. Copy all the new camera definitions from camera definitions.txt.
  5. Paste them at the bottom of the aircraft.cfg file to preserve existing settings.
  6. Save the changes to the aircraft.cfg.
  7. Launch (or restart) FSX and select the aircraft to experience the new viewpoints.

Practical Suggestions for Better Outcomes

Mouse Panning

When using SHIFT + O (the letter O), you can swirl the camera around freely with the mouse for intricate visual angles. Press SPACE BAR to momentarily fix on a precise spot, then revert by pressing CTRL + SPACE BAR.

Fine-Tuning Visibility

Any camera definition can be hidden from the cycle by changing CycleHidden=NO to YES. Although Microsoft’s default aircraft typically omit this line, it can still be manually added to maintain flexibility.

Responsible Usage Note

By downloading and installing these camera definitions, you assume all associated risks. Though complications are highly unlikely, Marc Renaud accepts no liability for potential harm to the simulator or system. Always maintain standard caution when adding third-party files to your flight simulation environment. These viewpoint enhancements bring you closer to the cockpit’s details and the aircraft’s external design, making every flight more immersive.
