FS2004 TreeGen

TreeGen refreshes FS2004 landscapes with smaller, denser forests that form believable treelines and a stronger sense of mass from low level to cruise. The package scales default trees down about 40%, boosts placement for all seasons, and uses lighter textures for smooth performance while keeping the view natural in flight.

The default FS9 trees are over-sized and too sparse. As a result, they never create a believable tree-line, or give you the sense of mass and density. I've reduced the size of the trees down by 40%, and increased their numbers. There is no performance hit at all. In fact, you should get better performance because these files are at half the size compared to the original. I've reduced the quality down slightly, but you shouldn't notice any difference once airborn at 200 feet and above. All seasons are included.

Extract the downloaded archive

Use 7-Zip (free) or WinRAR to extract the ZIP to a temporary folder. Don't install while still zipped — the simulator can't read inside ZIP files.

FS2004 add-ons go into FS9\Aircraft\, FS9\Addon Scenery\, FS9\Gauges\, or FS9\Effects\.
