KHSV Huntsville International-Jones Airport receives an AFCAD update that aligns the layout with FAA charts from July 2008, adding the new 228-foot control tower and taxiway L for improved cargo routing to U.S. Customs and extended 18R–36L departures in Microsoft Flight Simulator X.

Huntsville International-Jones Airport, Alabama (AL). Modified to match the airport layout as of July 2008 including the new control tower and new taxiway L. By Leroy Mears.

Here is an improved version of the stock Huntsville International Airport. This AFCAD was modified using ADE v1.37 to include changes as per the FAA chart dated July 2008. The changes include a new control tower near the center of the east runway and a new taxi way "L" added to enable large cargo aircraft to taxi to U.S. Customs parking and take off using the extended runway 18R-36L. The original control tower is still standing at the real airport. The new 228 foot control tower went operational Sunday May 4, 2008. The new control tower is 132 feet taller than the original control tower. The included jpeg picture shows the new taxi way "L" under construction.

Many thanks to Jon Masterson for his email instructions of how to remove trees from a couple of texture squares which the new taxi way "L" now crosses.

This AFCAD has not been tested in Flight Simulator 2004. The new control tower image is native to FSX.

Installation:

Extract the two files KHSV_ADE_LDM.bgl and KHSV_ADE_LDM_CVX.bgl into your Addon Scenery/Scenery folder, re-start FSX and enjoy.

This AFCAD is Freeware and you are authorized to modify it as you may need for your use as long as you do not make any money on it.

How to install this mod

FSX / P3D AFCAD file

Extract the downloaded archive

Use 7-Zip (free) or WinRAR to extract the ZIP to a temporary folder. Don't install while still zipped — the simulator can't read inside ZIP files.
Place AFCAD file

AFCAD files (AF2_*.bgl or AFX_*.bgl) go into FSX\Addon Scenery\Scenery\ or a dedicated AFCAD folder you create.
