FSX Handley-Page Halifax

Handley-Page Halifax “Friday the 13th” brings a storied 158 Squadron Halifax III to life in FSX, celebrating the aircraft that flew 128 operational sorties and later appeared on Oxford Street. The package updates the classic Alphasim model with a refreshed panel, custom gauges, revised flight dynamics, working hatches and bomb bays, and cockpit light switches.

Handley-Page Halifax WW2 bomber. "Friday the 13th" was a Halifax III of 158 Squadron, Lisset, Yorkshire, No. 4 Group. It completed 128 operational sorties - more than any other of the 6176 Halifaxes built. After the war, Friday the 13th was put on public display on Oxford Street, London. Original model by Alphasim. Upgraded to FSX with new panel, gauges, .air file by A.F. Scrub.

Installation:
-Unzip " Halifax" into a temporary file and move the "Halifax" folder into the main Aircraft directory.
-Read instructions carefully when installing the gauges , say YES...when asked if the gauges sources should be trusted. If you say no....most of the gauges are not going to work !
-Leave all gauges.cab in your panel folder.

1) External Animations
-Crew hatch : shift-e
-Main bomb bay and wing bomb bay doors : / (spoiler key)
2) Light switches
Three are mousable light switches for Navigation / Landing lights (main panel, center) and cockpit internal lighting (on overhead panel).

Sounds:
The default DC-3 sounds are used.

How to install this mod

FSX / P3D add-on

  1. Extract the downloaded archive

    Use 7-Zip (free) or WinRAR to extract the ZIP to a temporary folder. Don't install while still zipped — the simulator can't read inside ZIP files.

  2. Place files per the readme

    Most FSX add-ons go into one of: SimObjects\Airplanes\, Addon Scenery\, Effects\, or Gauges\.

  3. Always read the included readme

    Thank you, for keeping these files active. I have just returned to fs2004 after many years. Your site allows download without all the usual catches. It seems, so many sites, want to know the inside leg measurement before giving over the files. I would gladly pay, for my downloads. But not at the expense of my privacy.
