The Pan Am Fokker F27-200 is a freeware aircraft package that offers a classic interpretation of Pan American’s distinctive 1980s-era paint scheme. Developed by Mike Stone and repainted by David Grindele, this model provides a faithful recreation of the storied twin-engined turboprop for Microsoft Flight Simulator X. Enthusiasts of historical liveries will appreciate the refined detailing that captures Pan Am’s signature globe logo and the airline’s well-known color palette.

Heritage of the Fokker F27

The Fokker F27 (sometimes referred to as “Friendship”) emerged from the Netherlands as a rugged regional airliner designed to handle short fields and fluctuating weather conditions. Its high-wing configuration, together with reliable turboprop engines, made it an adaptable option for many operators in the 1960s through 1980s. This variant highlights the aircraft’s aerodynamic styling, including the pronounced nose profile and durable landing gear for smaller runways.

Visual Enhancements

Model developer Mike Stone integrated carefully mapped textures that align with the F-27’s fuselage contours, while David Grindele enhanced each surface with Pan American branding. The lacquer-like finish echoes the real-world sheen often seen on these aircraft, and the cockpit windows, wing surfaces, and tail fin have been accurately proportioned.

Hi, this aircraft sounds like a Convair 580, not like RR Dart engines. Also when trying to land it will not slow down enough to land even with engines at idle and full flaps down.
