This lively repaint package offers a detailed blue-and-white paint scheme labeled as N7187Y, meticulously crafted for the Rancho JEN Cessna 150 freeware model. Designed with Microsoft Flight Simulator X users in mind, it delivers two texture options for versatile performance and visual appeal.

Distinctive Exterior for Enthusiasts

Cessna 152 aircraft have long been cherished as prime two-seat trainers, renowned for stability and efficient fuel consumption. In this project, Tom Tiedman reimagines the classic Rancho JEN Cessna 150 as a 152 Aerobat in an eye-catching blue-and-white livery. Although the registration number “N7187Y” is fictional, the colors imbue a realistic, memorable presence in the virtual skies.

Texture Variants and Technical Details

  • DXT3 with 1024 px Resolution: Improved frame rates and reduced memory load, suitable for lower-spec systems or those prioritizing performance.
  • 32-Bit with 2048 px Resolution: Sharper details and enhanced clarity, ideal for simmers who prefer high-fidelity visuals.

Both texture sets omit mipmaps for a crisp, uniform appearance. Feel free to install whichever suits your simulator’s capabilities, or even place both in the aircraft folder if you enjoy comparing them side by side.

Preparing the Base Aircraft

Since these files only provide the livery, you will need to obtain the original Rancho JEN Cessna 150 freeware base model. This add-on is available in the Fly Away Simulation library, along with Mark Rooks’ adaptation that optimizes the aircraft for Microsoft Flight Simulator X. Once you have the prerequisite files in your simulator directory, you can smoothly incorporate this new repaint.

Installation Steps

  1. Drop the texture.Blue and White (DXT3 1024) folder and/or the texture.Blue and White (32 bit 2048) folder into your existing “Rancho JEN” airplane directory.
  2. Open the aircraft.cfg file in that same aircraft folder and paste the following two [fltsim.X] entries, replacing the “X” with the correct sequence numbers. Make sure to save the changes.
  3. Launch your simulator and enjoy flying this standout repaint.
