Screenshot of North American Airlines Douglas DC-4 in the air.
North American Airlines operated between 1950 and 1956 providing low cost non scheduled flights in the US coast to coast and to Florida. It was in fact six "non-sked" carriers merged into one. The flights were called "Aircoach". They also flew DC-3 and C-46 equipment. The aircraft flying coast to coast were labeled "99ers" because the one way fare was $99. The airline was renamed Trans American Airlines in 1957 after NAA was forced by the government to cease operations. TAA flew briefly to be reborn as Twentieth Century Airlines in the early 1960s. N63396 was bought be Twentieth Century in 1946. Reeve Aleution bought it in 1957. TAA and Reeve Aleution's paint schemes were almost identical. N63396 crashed on approach to Adak Alaska in 1959.
- First, make sure that the base model (DC4_v10.zip) is installed on your system.
- Find the Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator 9\Aircraft\JBK Douglas DC-4 folder on your system, and place the texture.na folder there.
- Copy and paste the following section to your DC-4 aircraft.cfg file, replacing the XXX in [fltsim.XXX] with the next number in sequence with other repaints already there (i.e [fltsim.0, fltsim1, etc.)
