First of all, thank you for downloading this aircraft.

This latest aircraft is the product of 10 months of work, and is my third interpretation of the B757 to date, the previous two remaining un-released.

Installation:

  1. Right-click on your desktop, and create a "new folder".
  2. Extract the contents of this archive into the new folder. The directory structure will be copied over.
  3. Open explorer (or similar) and move or copy over the contents of the newly created folders into their FS2002 counterparts. For example, move the contents of the "Aircraft" folder into the FS2002 "Aircraft" folder.
  4. If you get really stuck, have a look at http://www.simviation.com/acinstall.htm

Model features:

  • Hi-Res textures.
  • Reflective paint levels based on real paint reflectivity data.
  • Reflective materials, or "dynamic shine". Many materials are modeled, including Aluminum, Steel, and several types of Carbon Composites, Plastic and Glass. Your new bird will glint in the sunlight!
  • Dynamic wing views, see the flaps, ailerons, spoilerons and spoilers deploy. With the flaps extended, you can even see right through the wing!
  • Tilting and hanging gear, with a full range of (1.8ft at the rear, 1.1ft at the front) of suspension travel, watch the huge gear strain under 255,550lbs of weight!
  • Accurately modeled flight dynamics for the 757-236 with the Rolls-Royce RB211-535E4B engine.

Known Issues:

1. This is a high polygon model. For the record, the exterior model has 28689 polygons, and the VC has 21391, giving a grand total of 50080 polygons.

This model was tested on a variety of machines, with minimal problems. Most systems however, were high-end machines.

Your system may not be able to handle this. If you have problems with this model, such as poor frame rates, graphical artifacts etc, please do not email me about this, there is nothing I can do about this unfortunately.

2. There are no opening doors on this model. There is an opening radome (Shift + E). As I had already exceeded my self-imposed 50k polygon limit, I did not want to go any further.

3. As provided this model is set to alias the panels and sound of the B777 and B737. If you have deleted or changed the default aircraft, this model may not show up in FS2K2. You will have to install your own sound and panel if this is the case.

4. This model makes use of the new MDL configuration for FS2K2, and as such, is not compatible with any other version of MSFS.

Credits

In no particular order, here are the people I would like to thank:

My family for their understanding, and my Dad especially, for helping me out with the physics. Emma for never asking why I was still on the computer at 3AM. Everyone at Monarch, Air 2000, and EGCC for taking the time out to help me, and especially Keith Braid for letting me loose on his babies! Chris Loomis, Felix J Rodriguez and Brett Henderson for helping me with the Beta testing, and Brett again for fixing the FDE.
