FS2004 Pan Am Super C Constellation

Pan Am’s one-off Lockheed L-1049C Super Constellation “Clipper” repaint recreates N6213C as leased in 1955, bringing period-correct markings and airline details to the virtual cockpit lineup in FS2004. Textures only, it requires L1049G.ZIP and L1049G_U.ZIP for the Manfred Jahn base model.

  • First, make sure that the base models are installed on your system as described above.
  • Find the Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator 9\Aircraft\Lockheed_L1049G folder.
  • Unzip the texture folder contained in this file and copy it to the "Lockheed_L1049G" folder.
  • Using a text editor such as Wordpad open the aircraftconfig.txt file from this zip file and copy the content into the Lockheed_L1049G folder's aircraft.cfg. IE copy and paste sections that look like the following:

[fltsim.X]
title=Lockheed L-1049C Pan American N6213C
sim=L1049G
model=1049vc_s
panel=
sound=
texture=clipper
kb_checklists=L1049_check_EA
kb_reference=L1049G_ref
atc_heavy=0
atc_id=N6213C
atc_id_enable=1
atc_flight_number=419
atc_airline=Clipper
atc_parking_codes=PAA
atc_parking_types=GATE
prop_anim_ratio=0.99
ui_manufacturer=Lockheed
ui_type=L-1049C Super Constellation
ui_variation="Clipper"
atc_id_color=0x00000000
atc_id_font=Verdana,-11,1,600,0
description="Super Constellation textures by Dave McQueen."

  • Using the text editor paste it into the Lockheed_L1049G aircraft.cfg file under those sections already present. The first line of each new section has to be changed to be 1 number higher than the one that precedes it in the aircraft.cfg file. For example in the section above if it was placed after the section that read [fltsim.7] in the first line, then the section above would need to be changed from [fltsim.X] to [fltsim.8]. The next one to [fltsim.9] and so forth.

Requires dependencies

This add-on may require the following files to function properly. If this is a repaint, the dependency below is likely the base aircraft package.

How to install this mod

FS2004 add-on
  1. Extract the downloaded archive

    Use 7-Zip (free) or WinRAR to extract the ZIP to a temporary folder. Don't install while still zipped — the simulator can't read inside ZIP files.
  2. Place files per readme

    FS2004 add-ons go into FS9\Aircraft\, FS9\Addon Scenery\, FS9\Gauges\, or FS9\Effects\.
  3. Always read the included readme

    Every mod ships with a readme.txt or README file. It tells you exactly where files go, what dependencies are needed, and any quirks specific to this add-on.

    Just downloaded it, a great shot!!!! My father-in-law flew this airplane, as a Pan Am co-pilot, on and off from Apr 30, 1955 - Sep 2, 1955, along with N6212C, which was also an L-1049. So, my guess is that Pan Am had at least 2 1049's flying between IDL, BOS, EWR, and SJU, MIA during the summer of 1955. Were these Eastern Air Lines airplanes on an interchange agreement?
