A Gmax FSX/SDK retractable landing gear version of Cessna's 177 Cardinal proposed replacement for the 172. At 200 hp and considerably more aerodynamic than the 172, it was truly a standout airplane in its own right. This model is based on the real C177RG in which the author received his complex endorsement. Includes full function VC with accurately modified gauges. Model, textures and flight dynamics by Brett Henderson.

I love the airplane, I've flown a 177RG some years ago and speeds seem right on, 120kts IAS when at cruise with no headwind, and its only sipping on the fuel at about 9-10 Gal per hour depending on what you set. You can't drive most cars or pickups that cheap on gasoline/mpg and that is what made the 177RG a great plane.
Nice full Radio and Instrument panel. The only negative I found was during my first night landing that while the taxi and landing lights illuminate on the plane they do not shine onto the ground and I tried adjusting the landing lights (control + shift + numbers. Someone said the instrument lights did not work, I found on the night flight that they came on automatically as it got dark. This is a keeper plane in my stable!
Everything works perfectly! The only problem is there is no SOUND! Any suggestions?
Love it! been flying this model for years on FSX. it's by far my favorite single engine piston aircraft on this sim.
This is a "must-have" add on for anyone coming to FSX for the first time, or anyone who just wants to recap their skills after not flying for a while. The 3D model is fine and accurate and the flight model is very "gentle" that is, it's an easy bird to take up and do touch and go's or any other practice routines you might think of.
The graphics are about as good as you are going to get from such an old sim and things just work as it should. Just about every button, switch, and knob works in both VC and 2D.
Overall this old girl will take off, fly and land as you might expect it to, she is an easy girl to get along with and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.
Ian.
Hey great work!!! I gave it 4 stars but everything worked great for me. VC seemed very grainy. But other than that I love the flight model and very easy to fly.
It is great to fly one of my best planes. Thank you
Awesome model! One of my favorite FSX planes of all time.
Any chance of more paint schemes, or maybe a fixed-gear version with wheel pants?
Fun plane to fly - thanks!
Seems a bit slow for an RG. Couldn't get more than 120 ktas at 85% and 8000 ft. No wind.
Great plane! I can't get panel lights, or interior lights on though... Tis fine if I only use it for day flights.
It might have to do with DirectX10. I switched it off again and than all liveries / Textures were well shown again. My system is Windows10 with the newest DirecX-drivers, but it seems not to harmonise with old versions.
I'd like to know why your programs work and 90 percent of the others don't.. What do you do different as your planes are the only one's the paint works... all other I download are ghost white we no graphics...
thanks for you great files
