X-Plane 11/10 SNQX Quixada Airport Scenery

SNQX Quixadá Airport scenery brings Ceará’s general aviation field to life with corrected aprons, ramps, gates, taxiways, and improved lighting, plus nearby city buildings and ortho-photo coverage around the airfield. Built for X-Plane 11/10, it adds XP11 ground services such as pushback and requires only default libraries.

Expert Overview

SNQX Quixada Airport Scenery brings one of Brazil’s most distinctive aviation hubs to life in X-Plane 10 and 11, delivering detailed aprons, ramps, and lighting systems that seamlessly blend into the surrounding cityscape. Its inclusion of custom ground services (in the XP11 version) and high-resolution ortho-photo coverage creates a convincing environment for pilots seeking a fresh regional experience.

Set in Ceará’s “Area Q” region, SNQX offers a glimpse of Quixada’s iconic monoliths and its worldwide reputation for paragliding and hang gliding adventures. I found this mod, tested on both simulator versions, to be a standout portrayal of an area brimming with flight possibilities, offering distinctive scenery enhancements for any virtual pilot’s collection.

This mod was installed, tested and reviewed by Adam McEnroe for Fly Away Simulation. Adam is an FS mod expert. Read his bio here.

This is an X-Plane 11 and X-Plane 10 scenery package for Quixada Airport (ICAO: SNQX), which is the airport serving Quixada and "Area Q" region of Ceara, in Brazil. The "Area Q" region is a reference to the nearby towns of Quixada, Quixeramobim, Quixela, Quixera e Quiterianapolis.

Aerial view of the runway. It includes corrected aprons, ramps, gates, taxiways, lighting system, city buildings, ortho-photo scenery for the airfield area, and (XP11 only) airport ground services (like push back).

SNQX airport is dedicated to general aviation. Quixada is a municipality in the state of Ceara, in Brazil. It is known for its unusual rock formations, known locally as monoliths. Quixada is a major paragliding spot in Brazil. It is famous for many flight distance world record breaks in the last years and attracts pilots from around the world every November when potential record-breaking conditions set up. Hang gliding and climbing are other extreme sports popular in the area.

This scenery was tested and is operational (as of May 30, 2017) in "X-Plane 11.02b1 64 bit", Windows 10 Home. It was also tested and is also operational (as of May 30, 2017) in "X-Plane 10.51 64 bit", Windows 10 Home.
