Historic Reflection on the Fokker DR1
The real Fokker DR1 (Dreidecker) became famous during World War I for its three-wing design, which offered exceptional maneuverability at low speeds. This triplane also gained notoriety through Manfred von Richthofen, known as the “Red Baron.” Many aviation enthusiasts admire its place in history, and now, you can explore this unique aircraft in Microsoft Flight Simulator X with a movie-themed paint scheme honoring “The Great Waldo Pepper.”

Installation Procedure
- Access your FSX installation folder, commonly: c://Program Files/Microsoft Games/Microsoft Flight Simulator X/Sim Objects/Airplanes/Dr1.
- Extract the contents of this ZIP file into the Dr1 folder. Ensure the “Use Folder Names” option is enabled in your extraction software, so all textures land in the correct directory.
- Open the
aircraft.cfg
file with a text editor (for instance, Notepad). Locate the final [fltsim.x] section, where x represents the current last texture entry. - Copy and paste the new configuration block (shown below) below that final [fltsim] entry. Then, adjust the
[fltsim.x]
line to the next consecutive number (for example, if the last entry is [fltsim.5], then rename the new one to [fltsim.6]). - Save the
aircraft.cfg
file. Launch FSX, select your newly added Fokker DR1 entry from your aircraft library, and take flight.
