FSX Vickers Vernon II

Vickers Vernon II brings the RAF’s first dedicated troop-carrier transport to life, recreating the 1923–1927 workhorse seen across the Middle East and India. Built for FSX, it includes period-appropriate external model and textures, a functional virtual cockpit using classic gauges, and tuned flight dynamics that capture the character of early multi-engine operations.

The Vernon was developed from the Vimy Commercial, and was the first troop-carrier transport operated by the RAF. It served from 1923 to 1927, mainly in the Middle East and India.

*To install for Flight Simulator X:

Just run the included setup program.

Gauges: Most of them borrowed unchanged from the FS9 Vickers Vimy.

Textures: Fuselage textures by me, wing, tail and engine textures adapted from the FS9 Vickers Vimy.

The flight dynamics are by me. The engine sections of the *.air file are copied from the FS9 Vickers Vimy flight dynamics.

This plane was made with FSDS 3.5.1 The textures with Paint Shop Pro and DxtBmp.

FSX / P3D add-on

Extract the downloaded archive

Use 7-Zip (free) or WinRAR to extract the ZIP to a temporary folder. Don't install while still zipped — the simulator can't read inside ZIP files.
