FSX Finnish Air Force Douglas DC-2

Finnish Air Force Douglas DC-2 “DC-1” repaint brings a historically themed camouflage and markings set inspired by the aircraft donated in early 1940 and later flown as staff transport. Built for Microsoft Flight Simulator X, it requires the Uiver Team X Douglas DC-2 base package for full model and virtual cockpit support.

INSTALLATION

This download requires the previous installation of the Douglas DC-2 package for FSX and presumes a standard installation of this package.

1. Unzip dc2X_finaf2.ZIP to a temporary folder, ensuring that you retain folder names.

2. Within the download, move the texture folder 'texture.finaf2' to the folder 'Douglas_DC2_X' within your 'Microsoft Flight Simulator X\SimObjects\Airplanes' folder.

3. If you have installed the latest version of the DC-2 (the last update is from 12/31/2010) you are already done. If not, I would strongly recommend to do so, as the latest update includes many enhancements.

4. Open the aircraft.cfg with a text editor. Enter the following section under the last [flightsim.XX] entry, numbering it sequentially:

A protective camouflage was applied in March 1942 and the aeroplane was re-numbered DO-1.\nFSX Flight Dynamics: Tom Falley, Rob Cappers\nModel: Alexander Schreijnders, Jan Visser, Rob Cappers\nTextures: Tim Scharnhop, Gerrit Kranenbarg, Jan Visser\nVC, Interior: Rob Cappers, Tim Scharnhop, Jan Visser\nXML & DLL Programming: HansJörg Naegele\nGauge bitmaps: Rob Cappers, Tim Scharnhop\nEffects: Roland Berger

How to install this mod

FSX / P3D add-on
  1. Extract the downloaded archive

Use 7-Zip (free) or WinRAR to extract the ZIP to a temporary folder. Don't install while still zipped — the simulator can't read inside ZIP files.
  2. Place files per the readme

Most FSX add-ons go into one of: SimObjects\Airplanes\, Addon Scenery\, Effects\, or Gauges\.
  3. Always read the included readme

Every mod ships with a readme.txt or README file. It tells you exactly where files go, what dependencies are needed, and any quirks specific to this add-on.
