VOZ 1.6 Released

VOZ 1.6 by Team VOZ at Vista Australis now brings you an updated Kingsford-Smith International (YSSY), Canberra (YSCB) and Maroochydore (YBMC). Western Australia has a list of 40+ fields added to it and there is a lot more for you to explore and find in the new VOZ 1.6.

Many people thought that with the release of VOZ 1.5 complete it signed the end of VOZ for FS2004 but now with VOZ 1.6 out, we have proven otherwise.

Otherwise known as the Vista Australias Project, this was the very first Australian-based community project for flight sim lovers to get involved in. given that the depth of flight sim users in Australia has grown exponentially in the last decade or so, the usage of having something like VOZ installed cannot be lost on anyone.

Compatible with FS2004, the most recent edition – VOZ 1.8 – was a massive success and provided FS2004 users with a huge range of things to do in simulation that they simply could not have done previously. With more than 300,000 users worldwide at the time of writing, this entire package has become one of the most synonymously loved projects to come out in flight simulation down under.

With hundreds upon hundreds of hours of research, development, testing, preparation and optimization put into every last detail you can be sure that what you are downloading and installing is the very description of clinical. VOZ was founded by John Venema, who was part of Orbx Simulation Systems, and has since watched his brainchild grow into one of the most independently successful parts of the entire flight sim regime.

In this package, you get an incredible;

  • 175 airports
  • 75 new areas of scenery
  • Unique textures for the whole of Australia, all built with conditional designs and looks depending on the season and the weather
  • Various updates and major improvements for all major cities
  • 4.8m photorealistic terrain, with 2,500km sq. of photorealistic terrain surrounding the Tamworth area

All of this comes together in stunning detail and, with the many hours of hard work put in perfecting the plan for this new FS add-on, ensures that the detail and the overall strength of the VOZ project shines through regardless of machine settings. Everything comes with fresh, new details and a way of running that ensures your FS software never has to particularly suffer from performance dips along the way.

However, another big part of the VOZ mission has been to help promote good causes and to give a little something back via the community. Currently, anyone who purchases the VOZ 1.8 Complete package from the official site in the physical disk format will have to pay money – otherwise, if you download it, it’s totally free. Outside of giving a small donation to the creators of this to help thank them for their time and patience, you are helping to donate to a very worthwhile cause – the Angel Flight Australia charity.

This charity is built around the honorable plan of helping emergency flights for those who are in need of help financially and medically. This brilliant service helps to ensure that people will be able to get the help that they need when times are tough and they cannot get the assistance that they otherwise would have required. The charity has grown exponentially over the years and it’s with things like the faithful assistance of the flight simulation community that this has been able to occur, and will occur in the future.
