The Piaggio P.180 Avanti is a high-speed high-efficiency turboprop aircraft. Capable of speeds up to 395 KTAS (or M0.68) up to its service ceiling of 41,000 feet. This performance is achieved by extreme aerodynamic optimization instead of sheer power.

The end result is an aircraft that burns 40% less fuel than the average jet of comparable size while flying at the same speed range, or 30% less than an equivalent size turboprop, as it flies much faster.

The pusher propellers on the wings mounted much backward thanks to the forward wing set make it a comfortable and quiet ride for the passengers, that also enjoy a very spacious cabin for an aircraft of this size.

  • Misbehaving click spots: altitude selector now is only +-100ft, easily operable via mouse wheel.
  • Missing Recognition light effect: the file was mistakenly not included in the 3.0 release
  • Lowered ITTs: for better hot climate behavior; now only very (very) hot days cause problems.
  • Passenger removed from cabin
  • Heading indicator/gyro now automatically synchronizes periodically.
  • Loading time reduced: CAB gauge is now packed properly
  • Autopilot ALT Mode misbehavior: this function now performs as intended.
  • Added high-resolution cabin & cockpit textures.

This has become my favorite aircraft in FSX. It shouldn't be freeware. It does have a few quarks like an occasional glitch that causes the controls to seize up, but if you fly without the LVL, FD, and YD on autopilot (Which you can fly without all three) it works fine. Everything is clickable in the cabin, which is amazing. And I love Kirby as it's a throwback to my SNES days. TOP NOTCH FREEWARE!!

Like the previous post by Erich, installed perfectly, and looks great but I cannot get the engines to start either. Given the glowing comments, I must be doing something wrong. Running this model in P3D V5.3 with all hotfixes. I've tried everything from E to individual panel controls to physical controls via SPAD.next. I am very experienced with flight simulation but unless anyone has a suggestion, at this point it is a no go for P3D V5.3 users.

Very good! I can use it in both FSX and Prepar3D v.4. Elegant and flying. Somewhat complicated controls, but it is worth learning!

Ok, it's official, I love this plane! It took me a bit to learn where all the controls were, but once I did, this thing flew like a beauty! just to test it out, I took it up to 30,000 feet and it handled that with ease!

The model itself is beautiful and shows the interior of the cabin. All surfaces work like a charm. This is one turboprop that I'm going to concentrate on mastering. Thank you for this!

Finally a decent Piaggio P180 Avanti download. Keep in mind it's a free-bee and You'll be fine. I loaded it with engines running so I had none of the issues a few had. The rear landing gear fold in to soon and vanish thru the doors, oh well. The VC is average for freeware but the external textures are great. The flight dynamics are average but overall okay. I'm keeping it loaded and will fly often happily.

It started out working fine. a bit touchy on landings but overall i liked flying it. now? everytime i fly it the daggum plane keeps trying to light itself on fire. weird. i'll reinstall it and see what happens.

You have to turn OFF the generators to use auto-start. Once the engines start, you can then turn the generators on.

Hi,

The aircraft installed fine however on auto start the starboard engine would not start? I tried to no avail. Any ideas?
