FSX Lismore Regional Airport Scenery

Lismore Regional Airport (YLIS) brings northern New South Wales to life with accurate runway and apron placement, a photo-blended ground backdrop, and custom landclass and waterclass that integrate smoothly with surrounding terrain in FSX. Photo-textured buildings, GA hangars, the maintenance area, and a distinctive modern terminal with Aboriginal artwork complete the real-world atmosphere.

Flight Simulator X Prepar3D

Lismore Regional Airport (YLIS), Australia. Lismore airport, situated in northern NSW close to Byron Bay and Ballina, operates 52 weekly flights on Rex airline to Sydney and has a large maintenance facility and a number of GA hangars. The terminal is modernistic in design and has a display of Aboriginal artwork. This scenery includes landclass and waterclass and a photo background blended to the normal FSX textures. All buildings are modelled with photo textures taken at the airport and accurate to real life measurement and placement. By John Ross.

Lismore Regional Airport Scenery.

1) Unzip the folder a place the LismoreFSX folder and LIsmore Land Class folder in the addon directory of FSX or any convenient location.

2) Start fsx and go to the scenery library.

3) Select add scenery and navigate to the folders above one by one and add them into your scenery library.

4) Enusre the scenery folder Lismore FSX is higher in priority than the land class folder or any other land class.

e.g 5 Lismore FSX
6 Coffs Harbour
7 Ballina
8 Lismore Land Class
9 SEQ Land Class
etc.

5) Select Lismore from the free flight menu or fly there from any other airport.

Notes:

The scenery is best viewed in Winter mode if no other replacement land class is being used although summer does not look too bad.

Some limited lighting is included including terminal lights.

The scenery was built using a mixture of FSDS 3.5, GMAX, Microsoft SDK software and Arno Gerretson's library programme. Airport layout was changed with FSXPlanner and hand tweaked using XML notepad.

How to install this mod

FSX / P3D scenery

  1. Extract the downloaded archive

    Use 7-Zip (free) or WinRAR to extract the ZIP to a temporary folder. Don't install while still zipped — the simulator can't read inside ZIP files.

  2. Place scenery in Addon Scenery

    Create a folder under FSX\Addon Scenery\ containing scenery and texture sub-folders.

  3. Activate in Scenery Library

    In FSX, go to Settings → Scenery Library → Add Area. Higher priority means it overrides lower entries for the same location.

  4. Always read the included readme

    Every mod ships with a readme.txt or README file. It tells you exactly where files go, what dependencies are needed, and any quirks specific to this add-on.
