Flight Simulator X Prepar3D

Colorado (CO), USA. Telluride Regional is the highest commercial airport in America at 9078 feet msl. You get photoreal with seasons, custom ground poly rumways, custom buildings and effects. FSX Acceleration will give the best results (also SP2 compatable). Acceleration users will have more eye candy. By Frits Beyer.

Windows 7 users follow the following instructions:

  • Unzip "KTEX.zip" to a temp folder.
  • Copy the "Telluride(KTEX)" folder to your "FSX/scenery" folder,effects to your FSX effects folder.
  • Copy the "AFX_KTEX_ALT.bgl" file to your "FSX/scenery/world/scenery" folder.
  • Run FSX.
  • On the main page go to "settings".
  • Now click on "scenery library".
  • Now click on "Add area" and search for the scenery folder.
  • Double click on the scenery folder and look for the"Telluride(KTEX)" folder.
  • Double click on this folder and then you shall see a texture and a scenery folder. Click on the open area outside the two folders.
  • The scenery will now load!
  • There is a GSX folder for people with GSX installed,copy the ktex.ini to your User/appdata like in the path set out in the folder.
  • Go to free flight and choose "KTEX" to start your flight or fly the default FSX Mission again.
  • For people that use Ultimate Terrain USA or the up coming Southern Rockies by ORBX go to Telluride(KTEX) scenery folder and remove cvxKTEX TOWN.BGL and TEX Houses.bgl and place scenery about Ultimate Terrain USA and ORBX.

How to install this mod

FSX / P3D scenery

  1. Extract the downloaded archive

    Use 7-Zip (free) or WinRAR to extract the ZIP to a temporary folder. Don't install while still zipped — the simulator can't read inside ZIP files.

  2. Place scenery in Addon Scenery

    Create a folder under FSX\Addon Scenery\ containing scenery and texture sub-folders.

  3. Activate in Scenery Library

    In FSX, go to Settings → Scenery Library → Add Area. Higher priority means it overrides lower entries for the same location.

  4. Always read the included readme

    Every mod ships with a readme.txt or README file. It tells you exactly where files go, what dependencies are needed, and any quirks specific to this add-on.
