FSX Castlegar Airport Scenery Update

Castlegar Airport (CYCG) gets a precise runway signage and designation correction, fixing the previously reversed runway numbers in the earlier scenery patch. Designed for FSX, this small updated BGL restores accurate runway identifiers so approaches, charts, and airport visuals align cleanly with real-world procedures while retaining Vern Opperman’s original airport layout.

Castlegar Airport (CYCG). Patch to the FSX patch (CYCG_FSX.ZIP) for Vern Opperman's FS2004 Castlegar Airport scenery, to correct reversed runway designations. By P. Nigel Grant/Vern Opperman.

Castlegar Airport Scenery Update.

Castlegar Airport Scenery Update.

Runway designations were inadvertently reversed in my FSX patch (cycg_FSX.zip) for Vern Opperman’s scenery for Castlegar Airport (CYCG).

The attached file “CYCG_ADE_PNG.BGL” corrects these errors; please move into to your Castlegar scenery file, overwriting the file already there.

Sorry for the misdemeanour!

Requires dependencies

This add-on may require the following files to function properly. If this is a repaint, the dependency below is likely the base aircraft package.

How to install this mod

FSX / P3D scenery
  1. Extract the downloaded archive

Use 7-Zip (free) or WinRAR to extract the ZIP to a temporary folder. Don't install while still zipped — the simulator can't read inside ZIP files.
  2. Place scenery in Addon Scenery

Create a folder under FSX\Addon Scenery\ containing scenery and texture sub-folders.
  3. Activate in Scenery Library

In FSX, go to Settings → Scenery Library → Add Area. Higher priority means it overrides lower entries for the same location.
  4. Always read the included readme

Every mod ships with a readme.txt or README file. It tells you exactly where files go, what dependencies are needed, and any quirks specific to this add-on.
