1. Director of Training

Job description includes - Reports to the VATUSA Director and is responsible for the efficiency and effectiveness of the training program. Functions as a VATUSA HQ staff member. Attends periodic meetings to report on training activities and issues and to stay abreast of issues which may involve VATUSA Training.

Establishes a VATUSA Training web page and oversees its maintenance. Works directly with Assistant Directors on training issues and provides ATC expertise to aid them in their decisions on operational issues. Ensures that training programs are planned, conducted, assessed, and improved on a continuous basis.

Establishes periodic VATUSA Training Department meetings, reports, or newsletters.

Maintains a staff of Chief instructors to recruit and certify candidate Center Instructors.

Monitors the performance and activity of Chief Instructors and Center Instructors.

Maintains close communication with Assistant Directors and ARTCC Chiefs on training matters.

Initiates action to ensure instructor coverage is adequate at all ARTCCs.
