X-Plane 11/10 F14B Tomcat

The F-14B Tomcat brings a substantially object-based Navy fighter to X-Plane 10, tuned to fit the simulator’s systems for smooth carrier-style operations. It includes an exterior refinement pass with corrected paint detailing and a modeled nosegear launchbar for catapult shots, delivering an authentic Tomcat presence in flight and on approach.

Substantially object-based Tomcat to conform with XP10 system (not an easy thing) - please read the enclosed Ready Room document for acknowledgements and more information. No 3D panel - and won't be one -- beyond my abilities and available time.

Upgrade - I noticed a cosmetic paint overbleed on one of the new objects - only when the plane was viewed from the outside at a specific angle and perspective... had to fix it nevertheless. OCD. As a bonus, added the launchbar to the nosegear that connects the plane to the catapult shuttle for a cat shot. It stands out pretty obviously on real Tomcats... now you have one here!

How to install this mod

X-Plane add-on

  1. Extract the downloaded archive

    Use 7-Zip (free) or WinRAR to extract the ZIP to a temporary folder. Don't install while still zipped — the simulator can't read inside ZIP files.

  2. Place per readme

    X-Plane add-ons go into Aircraft/ (planes), Custom Scenery/ (airports, mesh), or Resources/plugins/ (plugins).

  3. Restart X-Plane

    Close X-Plane completely and relaunch. The new content loads automatically.

  4. Always read the included readme

    Every mod ships with a readme.txt or README file. It tells you exactly where files go, what dependencies are needed, and any quirks specific to this add-on.
