The following repaint showcases an authentic USMC T-34C Turbo Mentor livery specially crafted to commemorate the Navy Centennial of Flight event. Developed by John Detrick for Microsoft Flight Simulator X, it highlights BuNo. 161472 in a unique scheme tailored to celebrate this historic milestone. The underlying model is the freeware AlphaSim T-34C (T34C_FS9.ZIP), and it must be installed prior to utilizing these textures. You can locate the required base model in the Fly Away Simulation library.

Distinctive Markings and Technical Emphasis

This repaint focuses on the T-34C, a turboprop trainer derived from the piston-powered Beechcraft T-34 Mentor. In actual service, the T-34C integrates a Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6A-25 engine, boosting the power output for consistent flight operations. Historically, both the US Navy and the Marine Corps have employed this aircraft for pilot training, owing to its agility and straightforward handling. This commemorative design reflects the USMC’s participation in the broader centennial celebration, displaying an iconic paint job that blends historical significance with functional aesthetics.

description=AlphaSim 2008\n\nT-34C Turbo Mentor\n\nThe Beechcraft T-34 Mentor is a propeller-driven, single-engined, military trainer aircraft derived from the Beechcraft Model 35 Bonanza. The earlier versions of the T-34, dating from around the late 1940s to the 1950s, were piston-engined. These were eventually succeeded by the upgraded T-34C Turbo Mentor, powered by a turboprop engine. The T-34 remains in service almost six decades after it was first designed. The T-34C Turbine Mentor is powered by a Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6A-25 turboprop engine and was developed in 1973, with the final example rolling off the production line in 1990.
