This dedicated repaint package for the payware Carenado C152, crafted by Tom Tiedman, delivers a custom blue exterior enhanced for Microsoft Flight Simulator X. It includes two variations—one featuring gear fairings and another without—that enable sim pilots to select their preferred wheel configuration and immerse themselves further in general aviation.
Aircraft Background and Aesthetic Highlights
The Cessna 152 represents one of the most widely recognized two-seat trainers. Originally rolled out for the 1978 model year, it upgraded the proven C150 framework. Powered by a dependable Lycoming O-235 engine, this airframe found popularity among flight schools worldwide. Unlike many trainers of its era, the 152 offered a refined cockpit design well suited for both instruction and recreational flying. Tom Tiedman’s repaint accentuates its exterior charm by highlighting crisp blue hues and polished details, bringing new life to the payware Carenado model.

Installation Approach
Prerequisite: You must already own the Carenado C152 payware add-on. Without this payware package, the repaint will not function properly.
Texture Folder Preparation
- Choose one of your existing Carenado C152 texture folders and duplicate it in a temporary folder.
- Insert the five enclosed repaint texture files, plus both thumbnail images, into this copied folder. Overwrite files if asked.
- Rename the updated folder to texture.Blue N2923W.
- Move (copy and paste) the texture.Blue N2923W folder back into the main C152 aircraft directory.
- Return to the temporary folder and rename that same folder to texture.Blue N2923Wsc (indicating a version without wheel fairings).
- Copy and paste texture.Blue N2923Wsc into your main C152 aircraft folder as well.
Now your repaint includes both a wheelpants variant and a no-wheelpants variant, each bearing the same registration.
Adjusting the Aircraft.cfg
Add the following two entries to your aircraft.cfg. Make sure you replace “X” with the next available numbers in your sequence of [fltsim.X] entries.
[fltsim.X] title=C152II Blue N2923W sim=SingleEngineProp model= panel= sound= texture=Blue N2923W kb_checklists=C152_CHECK kb_reference=C152_REF atc_id=N2923W ui_manufacturer="Carenado" ui_type="C152II" ui_variation="Blue N2923W with Gear Fairings" ui_createdby="Carenado" ui_typerole="Highwing single Engine Prop" description="The C152II, two-seat, fixed tricycle gear, general aviation airplane, used primarily for flight training, touring, and personal flying. Final Thumbnail Adjustments
- In your texture.Blue N2923Wsc folder, delete the original thumbnail file.
- Rename thumbnailWITHOUTWHEELPANTS to thumbnail.
- Both wheelpants and no-wheelpants variations will now display properly in the aircraft selection menu.
