FSX AFCAD Files For KEWR

Newark Liberty International Airport (KEWR) gets a refreshed AFCAD for FSX with two runway-operation options, including an active crosswind setup that enables simultaneous use of all three runways. Updated parking assignments, added stands, revised taxiways and signs from current charts, a fuel tank farm, extra service vehicles, rebuilt support roads, and improved tower-view airport perspectives round out the upgrade.

Flight Simulator X Prepar3D

Newark Liberty International Airport, New Jersey (NJ), USA. This airport update is for KEWR with two optional files made only for the FSX default airport, one version with the crosswind runway activated and in full operation where all three runways will be used for takeoff/landing and one version as the default runway operation. Assigned parking now updated as per their website with extra parking, taxiways and taxi signs updated to the latest charts, fuel tank farm added, extra fuel trucks, support vehicle roads rebuilt and many other improvements. Airport views are from inside the control tower (when in tower view). By Ray Smith.

There are 4 BGL files: KEWR_RS.BGL, KEWR_CW_RS.BGL, KEWR_CVX.bgl and a KEWR_OBJ.BGL file.

Runway Operation Files: The KEWR_CW_RS.BGL file is with the Xwind runway activated where all three runways will be used simultaneously. The KEWR_RS.BGL file is the same as the default runway operation. Assigned parking is the same in both files.

Installation:

If you are using my earlier version please remove/delete these files first, if you would rather keep them remove them to another folder not associated with FSX.

  • 1. Take the runway operation file of your choice (only one) and the KEWR_CVX.bgl file and place both of these files into: Flight Simulator X/Addon Scenery/scenery folder
  • 2. Take the KEWR_OBJ.BGL file and place this file into: Flight Simulator X/Scenery/Global/scenery folder
  • 3. Start up the Flight Sim and the changes will be present

Please only use one runway operation file at a time. I.E. Make sure there is only "ONE" of the runway operation files and the KEWR_CVX.BGL file are in the Addon Scenery/scenery folder at any time, remove/delete any other KEWR.bgl to avoid incorrect parking and other airport conflicts.

If you have any AI Traffic Addons please make sure they have "NOT" installed another Afcad for this airport as this will also cause a conflict.

When using ATIS with the KEWR_CW_RS.BGL file you will hear the fake runways as well as the airport runways, this is the method used in activating non parallel runways and should be ignored or if preferred use the version KEWR_RS.BGL.

Uninstall:

  • Delete/remove the BGL files and the default airport will then be active.

How to install this mod

FSX / P3D AFCAD file

  1. Extract the downloaded archive

    Use 7-Zip (free) or WinRAR to extract the ZIP to a temporary folder. Don't install while still zipped — the simulator can't read inside ZIP files.

  2. Place AFCAD file

    AFCAD files (AF2_*.bgl or AFX_*.bgl) go into FSX\Addon Scenery\Scenery\ or a dedicated AFCAD folder you create.

  3. Always read the included readme

    Every mod ships with a readme.txt or README file. It tells you exactly where files go, what dependencies are needed, and any quirks specific to this add-on.
