This package introduces a newly refined rendition of the popular twin-engine, wide-body jet in Airbus’ official demonstration livery. It aligns with the latest iteration (version 2) featuring noticeable improvements such as revised cockpit windows, updated nose contours, and optimized wing designs that include modernized winglets. Moreover, it incorporates an enhanced Animated Ground Servicing system for expanded ground interactions. Model design and paint work are both credited to Camil Valiquette.

Overview of the Redesigned Aircraft

This complete freeware simulation release brings a carefully modeled version of an advanced long-range aircraft, reflecting Airbus’ cutting-edge aerodynamics and cabin technology. The revision from its initial iteration extends to the fuselage profile, with special attention given to improved geometry around the forward section. The remodeled windows amplify realism in the virtual cockpit, and the updated wings now include revised high-lift devices and refined winglet shapes. Altogether, these structural upgrades recreate a lifelike flying experience within FSX.

Key Features and Technical Notes

  • Advanced Ground Servicing (AGS): The package includes a refined AGS module that deploys simulated support vehicles and ground equipment, contributing to more immersive preflight and post-flight conditions.
  • Interactive Doors and Cargo Hatches: By using the designated keyboard shortcuts, pilots can operate passenger doors, cargo doors, and other hatches. Specifically, Shift+E toggles main doors, Shift+E+2 opens small rear cargo compartments, and Shift+D handles cargo doors, while Shift+C engages further animations.
  • Reengineered Exterior Geometry: The updated nose contour and fresh cockpit window lines mirror modern design philosophies. Wing forms have also been upgraded alongside winglet modifications, boosting both aesthetics and aerodynamic fidelity.

Installation Details

  1. Extract all files directly into your FSX “Airplane” folder to ensure the necessary folders and components are properly placed.
  2. If you have not previously installed one of Camil Valiquette’s AGS aircraft, unzip the Effects.zip archive into the primary FSX directory, allowing the required night effects to find their correct positions.
  3. Enter the Options menu to configure the control bindings for Wing fold/unfold as Shift+C and Tail hook up/down as Shift+D. These assignments ensure you can fully leverage the AGS features.

Using the Ground Animations

The package incorporates animations that lend realism to ground operations. For instance, pilots can open passenger doors with Shift+E, and additional cargo sections are accessible via Shift+E+2 and Shift+D. These commands are standard in FSX but have been customized to work seamlessly with the included AGS. Remember to press Shift+C for the wing fold function that triggers certain special visual elements.

This rendition remains faithful to the characteristics of a typical next-generation wide-body airliner. It includes visually appealing details to match real-world counterparts in shape and proportion. Equally important, the flight model integrates subtle enhancements for a balanced control response during climb, cruise, and descent phases.
