This package offers a detailed simulation of an Emirates Boeing 777-300ER (registration A6-EBC) created by Melvin Rafi and further tailored for Microsoft Flight Simulator X by David Grindele. It comes with all the essentials, including an original freeware base model and numerous refinements to enhance performance, visual features, and overall realism.
Key Technical Highlights
- Adapted FM (Flight Model) and Configuration Files: The original framework from MelJet was adjusted for smoother behavior in FSX, providing more authentic weight handling and engine performance.
- A2A 3D Lights and Redux Compatibility: Integration of 3D lighting effects (if you own the A2A package) ensures enhanced visual immersion, especially during nighttime or low-light operations.
- Maintenance-Style Engine Cowling Function: By using
SHIFT + E
, you can open the engine cowlings, revealing detailed turbofan internals for added realism at the stand or during servicing scenarios. - Gate Interaction: When positioned at a jetway-equipped gate, pressing
CTRL + J
will align the passenger bridge to the aircraft door, accurately matching typical airport operations. - Thorough Testing: Verified on Windows Vista (32-bit) and Windows XP under FSX conditions, ensuring stable performance without additional configuration beyond installation.
About the Aircraft and Airline
The Boeing 777 series is a widebody platform known for its long-range capability, twin high-bypass turbofan engines, and modern onboard systems. In real-world operations, Emirates employs the 777-300ER variant on transcontinental routes, capitalizing on its efficient design, spacious cargo capacity, and passenger-friendly cabin.
Origin and Customization
- Original Author
- Melvin Rafi (MelJet), renowned for authentic 777-series modeling and texturing.
- FSX Updates
- Adjustments and refinement by David Grindele, incorporating optimized air files, aircraft configuration tweaks, and advanced lighting.
MelJet aircraft were initially designed for earlier simulators, such as FS2000 and FS2002. Although some had partial compatibility with Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004, this specific rendition was meticulously revamped to leverage the modern FSX environment’s visual and flight dynamics capabilities.
Installation Steps
- Locate the
Aircraft
folder in the downloaded archive, then copy it to your “FSX\Simobjects\Airplanes” directory. - Launch FSX, open the aircraft selection panel, and choose “MELJET” as the manufacturer. You will see the Emirates 777-300ER ready for activation.
- All required files are included in this freeware release. For full 3D lighting, you may install the A2A 3D Lights & Redux package separately.
This updated MelJet 777-300ER preserves the artistry and attention to detail from its original creator while remaining fully operational in FSX. It showcases specialized animations, refined handling, and improved lighting transitions. Enthusiasts will appreciate the extensive features of this long-haul jet, especially in an airline livery as prominent as Emirates. The combination of visual accuracy and performance enhancements makes this a captivating addition to the community’s freeware options on Fly Away Simulation.

Could anyone reply on how to get sound and VC working?
The plane is good, I don't hear the sound at all. Please look into it. Otherwise, I loved it!
Why is there no virtual cockpit? guys I don't recommend this until they fix their plane!!
it shows just a b-777 white and without virtual cockpit, how can I fix it?
why when I chose the plane,it shows a plane white colour and not design whether outside the game or in the game?
just loaded it and there was no cockpit
Why there isn't a working virtual cockpit? Because I'm using MFSX: Steam Edition and it doesn't work for me.
Can I know whether this wonderful plane has a virtual cockpit? Please reply soon!
