Enhance your virtual cargo operations with this free repaint for the trusty Airbus A330-200F. Created by Paul Craig and designed for Thomas Ruth’s original model, this repaint adds Hong Kong Airlines’ cargo scheme to your fleet in Microsoft Flight Simulator X. It features the airline’s distinctive branding, giving you the chance to simulate authentic freight flights across various regions.
Detailed Hong Kong Airlines A330-200F Livery
Hong Kong Airlines maintains a robust cargo network, and the Airbus A330-200F often plays a critical role in transporting goods throughout Asia and beyond. Although this repaint is engineered around Tom Ruth’s Pratt & Whitney-engined version, the actual Hong Kong Airlines airframe (registration B-LNY, construction number 1051) operates with Rolls-Royce powerplants. Paul Craig has promised to provide an update if a Rolls-Royce-compatible model becomes available.

Base Model and Technical Configuration
Before installing these textures, you will need to obtain the freeware Tom_A330-200F base package (filename: TOMA32F.ZIP). The cargo variant’s fuselage design offers a spacious main deck and carefully placed cargo door, which allows for streamlined loading and stacking of freight. Tom Ruth’s rendition of the A330 incorporates a functional virtual cockpit along with accurate flight dynamics to approximate the aircraft’s real-world performance envelope.
Reference for Engine Variation
Thomas Ruth’s A330-200F model currently includes only the Pratt & Whitney configuration. The livery you are downloading reflects actual Hong Kong Airlines aesthetics, but does not replicate the Rolls-Royce engine type used on the real B-LNY. Keep an eye out for any future expansions that might deliver the correct engine setup for even greater realism.
Installation Guidelines
- Extract the downloaded package to a temporary folder.
- Locate your Tom_A330-200F folder within the “SimObjects/Airplanes/” directory of your Microsoft Flight Simulator X installation path.
- Copy and paste the included texture.HKA folder into the Tom_A330-200F folder.
- Update the aircraft.cfg by editing the file with the additional [fltsim.X] entry. Ensure you adjust “X” to the next sequential number. Remember to back up this file first.
Below is the snippet you should include in the aircraft.cfg file:
[fltsim.X]
title=Hong Kong Airlines A330-200F
sim=TomA332
model=PW
panel=330
sound=
texture=HKA

atc_heavy=1
ui_manufacturer=Airbus
ui_typerole=Commercial Airliner

If you encounter any issues placing the text into the aircraft.cfg, move the file to another folder, edit it, then move it back to the original FSX aircraft directory. This approach resolves many file permission or editing conflicts.
